Thank you for your support
As we are all starting to look forward to Christmas, we are pleased to inform you that following a busy year which has seen the launch of the Deltabell® X, Deltabell® X Lightbox, DualCom Inside® and our Enforcer
two way wireless system, our continuing investment in product design and development will see various new products launched early in 2012. The first of our new products, which gives further expansion of the Enforcer system is the much anticipated KX12DT-WE Wireless Dual Technology detector. Also coming soon are the Enforcer with integrated GSM Digital Communicator and the Euro Wireless ZEM, which provides an interface between the Castle range of commercial panels and the Enforcer range of wireless sensors.
There are more details of these new products in the articles below.
Thank you for your continued support, in this our 25th anniversary year, and we wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Record Breaking Programming
Did you know that we've made our Enforcer wireless panel so easy to programme that it can be done in less time than it takes to read this newsletter? Steve Voss of Detection Security Services currently holds the record at 1 minute and 45 seconds.
If you think you can do even better, and put yourself in with a chance of winning £1000 at the same time, just enter our "Quickest Programmer in the Land" competition at one of our 25 year celebratory 'Big Thank You' roadshows being held near you.

KX12DT-WE Wireless Dual Technology Detector
Wireless dual tech detectors have long been the 'holy grail' of the security industry. Due to the nature of the electronics, they are much more power hungry than standard PIR detectors making them a less viable option in a totally wireless environment where all the power must come from the battery.
We are pleased to announce however that we have found this 'holy grail' and in the first quarter of 2012 will be launching the KX12DT-WE dual tech for use with the Enforcer two way wireless system.
The new ‘KX12DT-WE’ is an advanced wireless dual technology detector that uses significantly lower current consumption than a wired dual tech, and also has false alarm immunity by only ‘waking up’ to double confirmation activations.
Incorporating Pulse Count 1 and 2 sensitivity settings, and an adjustable microwave pot from 1m to 12m, the KX12DT-WE is the ideal solution for all commercial installation, even in harsh environments.

New GSM Digital Communicator for the Enforcer
Final testing is now underway of our great new GSM communicator for the Enforcer panel. Functionality is the same* as our current PSTN communicators, allowing uploading and downloading, signalling (Fast Format, and Contact ID) as well as SMS messaging**. This exciting development means that the wireless control panel now has wireless signalling, adding greater convenience during installation.
Initially the communicator will come pre-installed on the control panel PCB.

Wireless ZEM for Euro Range
With the release of V9.1 software, all commercial Euro control panels will be compatible with the new wireless ZEM allowing the full range of Enforcer two way wireless peripherals to be learnt, as well as having the signal strength and battery level indication integrated into the control panel.
In certain commercial environments, it may be difficult to install wireless detectors in particular remote locations due to the distance away from the control panel, but by using the wireless ZEM there is now a solution.
The wireless ZEM can be installed over 200 meters away, which allows the installation of wireless detectors in areas which are a long way from the Euro end station, giving more flexibility to new and existing installations.
The wireless peripherals learn onto the wireless expander following the same Enforcer learning process. The peripherals also have a two way communication between themselves and the wireless expander. The wireless expander then sends its data down the RS485 bus to the main Euro End Station control panel.
If further inputs are required on a large installation, the wireless ZEM makes it easier to add detectors or contacts compared to wired systems that may require large amounts of cable therefore reducing installation times and cost.
The wireless expander supports the same wireless peripherals as the Enforcer control panel.

Coming Soon...v9 panel software
As mentioned earlier, v9 control panel software will be fully featured to work with a new wireless input expander (ZEM), allowing use with the complete range of wireless peripherals such as keyfobs, door contacts and detectors. Even wireless bells can be added, without having to sacrifice any inputs.
Of course, v9 software will also be the new software for EN50131 installations, complying with all the new requirements.

Shared Lines with InSite UDL Software
We would just like to take this opportunity to clarify how the "Rings to Prime" feature works in the InSite UDL software package.
If you have your alarm control panel installed on a line which is shared with other devices such as a fax machine, you need to be able to prevent the alarm panel from picking up calls not intended for it.
This is done by setting the line mode to 'shared' in the panel programming, and then specifying a set number of rings which the panel should 'hear'. If the panel has 'heard' sufficient rings to prime it, then it will immediatly pick up the next incoming call.
Within the InSite software, this information is stored in the left hand column of the modem options page (all the information which is stored in the panel NVM). The right hand column contains information which is only held in the InSite database on the PC, and this comprises of the telephone number it should ring to contact the panel, and also the number of rings it should attempt before hanging up and trying again when priming the panel (Shared Rings on Dialout). Due to the nature of some telephone lines installed on the customer premises, the number of rings to prime in the right hand column may need to be upped, as there can be a delay to such an extent that InSite hangs up and stops ringing before even a single ring is heard at the customer's end. In such cases, the panel never gets primed, thus the panel never answers any calls from the PC.
In summary, if you have a site on a shared line, and are having difficulty in connecting to it, then increase the "Shared Rings on Dialout" within InSite's "Call Out Options".
